Food as Medicine
At Harvest House, food as medicine refers to the practice of using food and nutrition to prevent, manage, and treat diseases.
It's a concept that recognizes the powerful role diet plays in overall health and well-being, integrating food and nutrition into healthcare systems and treatment plans.
We’re not only feeding families but fostering healthier outcomes in underserved communities.
We believe food is a fundamental right, and we are here to make sure no one goes hungry.
Every bag of fresh food we provide is a step toward building stronger, healthier futures—with dignity and empowerment at the heart of all we do.

Food Pantry
Did you know 47% of senior citizens living around Harvest House are food insecure?
We are dedicated to tackling food insecurity, distributing thousands of bags of fresh fruit and produce each year, and ensuring essential nutrition reaches those who need it most.
This program is intended for those who lack access to a grocery store in their community. Twice each week, seniors drop by to chat with a nurse, perhaps take their blood pressure, and receive a bag filled with fresh fruit and veggies.
A nutritionist has a recipe utilizing some or all of the items in the bag, and our navigators help link our neighbors to other services. It’s wellness in action!
