Harvest Housing

Housing Team.jpg

Guided by a national housing stability philosophy, our Harvest Housing programs prioritize safe, stable housing as a foundation for well-being. By providing resources and access to housing, we aim to create a supportive environment where families at risk of homelessness can rebuild and thrive.

To date, we have supported 1,236 families with $2.5 million in rental assistance, preventing evictions and homelessness. Our impact goes beyond financial support; it's about keeping families safe and housed.

Programs

Rapid Rehousing

Our Rapid Rehousing Program supports individuals without stable housing. If you are currently in a shelter or a place not meant for habitation, you may qualify for assistance through one of Buffalo’s rapid rehousing programs.

How it works

  • Assessment: Contact Coordinated Entry at 716-853-1101 x215 x214 to schedule an eligibility assessment. You may need to provide documentation and visit the Erie County Central Library for further applications.

  • Assignment: Once on the Coordinated Entry List, you will wait to get to the top of the list. Once at the top of that list, you will be matched with a housing worker with either Harvest House or another housing organization in Buffalo.

  • Intake: Come into the office to meet with your assigned housing worker for a full intake session.

If Referred to Harvest House Buffalo

We’ll help you find safe housing, coordinate with landlords, walk you through lease signing and interpreting your lease agreement, assist with moving, provide donated furniture, and may cover first month’s rent, security deposit, and a portion of ongoing rent for a limited time.

Our Commitment

Throughout the program, we offer in-house and external wrap-around services to support you. Our goal is to help you overcome barriers to self-sufficiency, build confidence, and create a stable, empowered life.

Housing for Chronically Ill Clients

For individuals dealing with specific chronic illnesses, stable housing is essential. This program provides long-term housing support along with integrated healthcare services. We ensure those who need medical care the most have the comfort and security of a safe place to live. In addition, the program provides short-term assistance to people who fall behind in rent and utilities. At the same time, the program helps people looking for a new place to call home by providing the first month’s rent and security deposit. Referrals must come directly from a medical provider with supportive documentation.
